The Corvus, the first ski blackcrows ever launched with its debut in 2007-08, has been reimagined for winter 2024-25.

The new Corvus keeps its vigorous flex while modernizing its shape to be more playful. With a double rocker and classic camber associated with a slight pintail and directional profile, it gains pivot and therefore increases control. The construction has also been designed to reduce its carbon footprint, featuring a thicker wood core and fewer added materials.

The ABS sidewalls and edges are recycled, and the top sheet uses a TPU material that halves the environmental impact on the skis. This update is a nod to the founders’ ambition to create a ski that performs impeccably across diverse conditions, from deep powder to steep alpine runs and slush bumps, and is better for the environment.

The latest Corvus retains its signature long radius and playful shape, ensuring greater control and comfort for the skier. The ski features a 110mm waist, a 25m turning radius, and a progressive rocker profile, making it the epitome of freeskiing performance in big terrain.

“We wanted to create a ski that works well on every kind of snow because, in Chamonix, you encounter all types of snow in the same run from the top of the Aiguille de Midi to Chamonix downtown,” says Camille Jaccoux, blackcrows founder. “This ski does exactly that.”

The Octo and Octo Birdie, the newest members of the all-terrain line, are close relatives of the popular Mirus Cor. These skis are designed to blend accessibility with performance, offering a unique experience for a broader audience.

The Octo, with its 84mm waist and flat tail, is a ski with a classic construction, a longer radius, and is tailored for carving. It delivers precision and agility across varied snow conditions. According to Julien Regnier, blackcrows’ ski shaper, “I wanted to make a ski in the tradition of the Mirus Cor, but with a flat tail and more consensual look. The goal was to keep the fun, but with a more polished and sober ski.” Both the Octo and Octo Birdie share identical construction and materials, differentiated only by their sizing and colorway, offering skiers the same high-quality performance with a choice of personal style.

A significant feature of blackcrows skis this season is the new graphic concept, Steps. This design employs bold and colorful chevrons as both 3D steps and a color gradient, creating a consistent and visually striking aesthetic across the collection. The Big Mountain skis, including the Anima and Atris, showcase bold chevrons representing the vertical dimension of the snow, and embodying the grace and power needed to traverse deep powder with confidence. The All-Terrain skis, such as the Camox, Atris, and the newly introduced Octo, feature tapered chevrons evolving into arrows, symbolizing the precision and agility required to navigate varying snow conditions.

The Mirus Cor returns with new sizes (160cm and 184cm) and continues to be the go-to ski for carving and freestyle. With its 87mm waist and wide tip, the Mirus Cor is designed to excel in carving while also taking full advantage of off-piste proximity. Its design, characterized by frequency graphics, highlights the ski’s unmatched liveliness, making it a top choice for both men and women seeking an exhilarating carving experience.
